Viking Food Group is a family owned business with three generations of experience in ingredient sales, product development, and customer support. Time Line: · Early 1940’s Frank Wolf begins selling chocolate and cocoa products to the confectionary, dairy, and bakery industries, as well as to retailers. · 1950’s Frank shifts his focus away from retail sales and begins to focus on providing better service and an expanded product line for the dairy industry. · 1960’s Frank’s son-in-law Ron Pershall joins the company to expand sales. · 1984 Frank Wolf retires. Ron Pershall founds Viking Chocolate Company with a focus on high volume liquid chocolate, compound, and cocoa. · 1990’s Ron’s son-in-law, Jeff Horrocks, joins the company with a focus on adding and expanding products and services to meet as many customer needs as possible. · 2000’s Ron’s son, David Pershall, joins company with a focus on improving communications between internal and external operations. · 2002 As the scope of Viking Chocolate Company’s products expands well beyond that of chocolate. The company begins doing business as Viking Food Group. · 2002 Viking teams up with Amanda Karwic and Food Solutions to provide added technical services for internal product development, consulting, and labeling.
